Hybrid Clark's x Western Grebe- How to distinguish between non-hybrid and hybrid individuals?

A post on the gallery of the Clark's grebe seems to show both western and clark's grebe traits, with black that stops just short of the eye and rather dark sides. Is there anyway to effectively remove the possibility of an individual being hybrid if it shares some similarities with both species...

Opinions on this video- Slender billed curlew

    Lincoln, 12/10/2023, Whooper swan

Confident this is a whooper swan and so is my dad however the rather short looking neck is causing me to be a little hesitant to report it as one without first getting further opinions- its forehead looks also quite steep. I would expect a Bewick to have much more black on the bill which this...

Cool video I found on the internet- Bird Migration on Merchant Ships

It was take in the Europe (Baltic Sea, med etc)- greenish warbler was a surprise. Such a wide range of species, reminds me of the stories that my dad would tell me of the amount of birds that he would encounter while traveling on cargo ships.

Name a bird for each letter of the alphabet-

    1. Whatever bird has been chosen for A will decide what category each subsequent bird must be in for the game to continue. 2. Scientific names can be used and their regional names can also be used. 3. A bird cannot be repeated for more than one letter. 4. The first game will only allow birds...

How does a hotspot work on Ebird?

I've been reporting from one area in France for weeks and have reported 91 birds from that one area yet it does not appear as a hotspot, I'm not that concerned that it doesn't show up but don't understand what constitutes as a hotspot.

    Charente, strange finch/bunting, 31/06/2023

I’m between a serin and a cirl bunting on these images. Appreciate any other opinions. I did not get a good look at the bird on the field and only got these bad images. Head pattern looks vaguely good for a serin but its overall plumage tone seems better for a cirl bunting. Thanks for any...
