Swarovski NL vs Zeiss SF: a personal comparison of two 8x32s.

You know what he's like, yet you still rise to the bait. Not sure what's worse, Dennis, or adults behaving like children.

    Essential tremor and IS binoculars

Be aware that some Canons suffer from decomposing / sticky rubber armour after some years if buying secondhand. See here for an example.

I am thinking the new 32 mm alphas from Swarovski and Zeiss are the best birding binoculars you can buy right now.

They'll still be functioning long after any stabilisation electronics have failed. Warranty on IS binoculars is typically 2 years, sometimes less. 10+ year warranties on IS binoculars would be game changing. Anyway, stay on topic, this is about new 32 mm alphas from Swarovski and Zeiss, not...

CL Curio 7x21: protection for apparent metal

The thread should have been titled "If I'd done my homework, I wouldn't have bought the CL Curio". But that would have been an admission of ignorance.

I tried a slug of $1K roof-prism binoculars and I think the Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32 is still the best for the money!

Seriously?!? Most people's decisions are based on exactly that argument. But I get that you were just taking a dig at Denco. Maybe stick to the useful advice rather than sniping. There's always the "off" button.

Leica Trinovid 10x50 BA dimmer than a Swarovski EL 8x32 SV?

Not sure where you live but the Eurooptic page for the Sig states: "Due to government regulations and/or manufacturer stipulations we are unable to export this item outside of the United States."

Is the future of birding electric?

Unlikely. Segways got banned from pavements for safety reasons. And it's not about Darwinianism - EVs at low speed are unbelievably quiet. In a car park, you could easily get hit by one as you don't realise they're anywhere near you. (But then plenty of ICE drivers are equally as oblivious on...

    General wildlife watching binos

The Zeiss Victory Pocket is anything but a toy. To quote from a recent post in the 28 page thread on them: "it replicates the view in my HT in all but the poorest light". @OP you can currently try them for free for 48 hours.

    Review of 8x25 Victory Pocket

Hardware failure within such a short timescale is unacceptable, you should demand they get replaced again. And ask for an alternative pair whilst yours are out of action. Bino advice

No, not recommended as it's paper based and therefore abrasive. The cloth that usually comes with new spectacles (and maybe sunglasses) would be best. https://spectrumscientifics.wordpress.com/2014/10/14/cleaning-optics-what-not-to-do-telescopes-binoculars/...

Nikon Monarch HG 10x42 - Visible Line on Prisms & Inconsistent Focuser Feel

Nikon warranty in the UK is not transferable beyond the initial purchaser: https://www.nikon.co.uk/en_GB/service_support/repair_centre/warranty.page I have always taken that to mean they don't have faith in the reliability of their products, regardless of who owns it, and have therefore always...

What price range gets most for your money?

To answer the title question, I'd say £300 - £750 for new price. Secondhand, considerably less. You should probably add Opticron DBA VHD+ x42s and Zeiss Conquest x32s to your list.

    Inexpensive Compact Binoculars advice

If you don't mind second hand, these Taigas at £65 are the top of the Opticron reverse porro range and from a reputable dealer. They are also 10x rather than 8x.

    Zeiss Conquest 10 x 32 or 10 x 42?

I think we probably got confused as well - sorry! Thought the OP had a MHG 8x30. Regardless, having compared a Hawke Frontier ED X 8x42 with mid range 10x32s in similarly overcast conditions to what the OP experiences (ie not twilight), I can honestly say the 42 provides much better colour pop...

    Zeiss Conquest 10 x 32 or 10 x 42?

That's an older HGL. I think jdshull meant a Monarch HG - the larger version of the OP's 8x32.

    Zeiss Conquest 10 x 32 or 10 x 42?

    Black Friday quality, almost certainly.
