    East Norfolk, Happisburgh advice

I’m going to be in Happisburgh all week next week. I know Hickling Marsh is nearby so I plan on going down. What’s Round this time of year? I fancy trying to do a dawn or dusk crane watch but I know that’s more of an autumn activity. Any other sites worth looking at? Is the beach any good for...

    Nerja, Andalucia 2024

I’m heading to Nerja next week primarily for herping but obviously some birding too. It’s a family holiday so suggestions need to be little leg friendly. Any suggestions for good spots? We will have a car but don’t want to be stuck in it for hours. I’m also interested in an ethical boat trip if...

    April Europe destination suggestions

So my 40th birthday grand trip has been killed by a mortgage renewal on new interest rates. I’m looking for suggestions for warm European destinations with decent birding (reptiles are my number 1 love) which as a general location is fine for having youngish kids along for the ride. Budget is...

    Help with logo identification

I picked a jacket up in a UK charity shop. This is the logo, does anyone recognise it? The manufacturer (I think) is Peru. At first I thought this was the country of the tour.

    Can anyone identify this logo?

so possibly nothing to do with the country then?

    Can anyone identify this logo?

I picked up this jacket in a UK thrift store and wondered if anyone could identify which your firm it is associated with. Googling doesn’t show anything up

    Celestron UK service

Just a quick update. Celestrons customer service was poor on the communication front, all done via an online ticket system based in the USA but I ended up being asked to post the scope to their UK centre. Had no idea what was going on but today a Sony new scope arrived so credit where its due.

    Allergic reaction to eyecups

It’s what I figured too, especially as it was one eye only. I definitely don’t have a latex allergy. I’ve cleaned it and now my eye is almost back to normal so I’ll get to play roulette with them at the weekend and see if it happens again!

    Allergic reaction to eyecups

I’ve tried them for a few minutes and no issue but today was a few hours. The issue only manifested itself a few hours afterwards. I’ll try cleaning them. I don’t know if they have a product mark to identify them so I can avoid just buying the same ones again.

    Allergic reaction to eyecups

Is this a thing? I’ve recently bought some pre owned Vicory FLs recently serviced and in excellent condition. I’ve done my 1st full day out with them and this evening my eyelid has swollen very badly, I look like I’ve been punched in the head. I have no known allergies and have used Conquests...

    Celestron UK service

Would either of you be able to suggest a type of glue? All of the repairs contacted have said no. When I place the eyepiece back in situ it works fine, zooms well and is clear. It seems the adhesive has failed and the thread possibly. I’m still waiting to hear from Celestron but if it is a write...

    Celestron UK service

To be honest I think I’ll go to someone who knows what they are doing. I’ve contacted east coast as I‘ve used them before. Rother contacted Celestron who apparently said a replacement is the only option based upon the same images I posted here, I tried fitting it back in but it seems the thread...

    Celestron UK service

thanks for the help. The particles are all some for, of adhesive. There’s no physical damage that I can see beyond the obvious. Certainly no broken glass. It works when popped back in, just doesn’t stick. I’ve been reluctant to mess with it out of fear of doing more harm. I have enquired with my...

    Celestron UK service

Thanks for the reply. Images are here. I purchase from F1 in Kent but they ceased trading during Covid. I don’t understand the mechanics so if it does screw in that would be great aside from feeling like an idiot. It literally came off as I unscrewed the cap. It’s a Regal M2 80. Decent scope for...

    Celestron UK service

I’ve had an inexplicable issue with my Celestrin scope where the entire optic head just detached inside the lens cap. Does anyone know anything about UK CelestRON repairs or customer care? All I can get is a US customer care form which no one responds to.

Stealth birding Quick release binocular harness/strap question

Apologies if this is the wrong thread, I couldn’t find one which was more applicable. I have a stealth birding binocular harness. They don’t seem to do a quick release strap but would like the option of easily switching between harness and strap. Do quick release straps/harnesses tend to use...

Not sure how you can disagree that an event with a large CO2 footprint funded on the whole by vendors selling high carbon travel while promoting a green agenda doesn’t have some issues it needs to resolve in order to present itself with integrity

    Conquest HD or Victory Fl

The FLs are objectively a better bin but the Conquests are great. If I had the choice between the two you’d take the better

    Conquest HD or Victory Fl

I’ve got a mate whose offered me his 8x42 T*FL for £500 plus my Conquests HD 8x32. What are your thoughts on whether this is a good deal? both pairs are fine optically.
