    Black Wheatear Patara

It was at Patara ruins, I revisited the site for a couple of hours this morning but no joy with relocation unfortunately. I've had contact with a couple of Turkish birdwatchers and they are convinced it would have been WCW as well, not Black Wheatear.

    Black Wheatear Patara

My first thought was melanism but the tail, rump and hind belly were pristine white, which ruled that out in my mind. I did also think Basalt but ruled that out due to the range as you mentioned. Having looked at White-crowned Wheatear again, it is possible that it was a juvenile. I'm hoping it...

    Black Wheatear Patara

Has anyone else seen a Black Wheatear in Turkey before as I had a nailed on identification until I saw Distribution Maps? Most say Spain and north-west Africa but I have seen one (xeno canto) which says they are present in Greece. Of course, I didn't have my camera with me as it was an impromptu...

    UK iPhone App Beta testers

Hi, I am looking for people who are interested in Beta testing a new App that is designed to assist birdwatchers in compiling lists of their observations. If anyone is interested could they send an email to [email protected], stating the type of iPhone you use and the iOS version...

    Birds around Kalkan

Hi All For those that are interested, whilst this was not a birding trip, I've just returned from the Kalkan area of Turkey with a few interesting sightings; White-spectacled Bulbul (family units in both Kalkan and Kas) Blue Rock Thrush (regular around Kalkan, woke me up most mornings singing...

    Listing iPhone App (UK)

Update for those that are interested. I have decided to only release the iPhone listing App once the accompanying website is complete. Reviewing the concept I decided (with the help of others) that it would be a poor user experience if the data could not be viewed outside of the App.

    Dowles Brook, Wyre Forest

I remember seeing a couple of Corncrakes about 20 years ago at the end of April/early May, in the Sturt Common area (private woodland)

    Listing iPhone App (UK)

The technical concept behind the App is that you have a local database on your phone (obviously), this synchronises to the "Cloud" which is then accessible from many places including a website. I am very close to finishing the App and expect this to be on the AppStore later this year. Of course...

    Listing iPhone App (UK)

I tried eBird in the past and had another look following your comments but it does not support (unless I'm missing something) the creation of existing lists other than as an import from other software. You can only add current sightings.

    Listing iPhone App (UK)

Hi All, I just wanted to gauge interest in an iPhone bird listing app which I have been developing over the last few months. I started looking for an iPhone App about a year ago as I wanted to keep a record of the birds I've seen in various places plus the obligatory Life List. I soon found that...
