Thanks for all your ongoing help I am pretty much decided on a Gitzo GHF2W Consequently to match I think I would go for either Gitzo series 3 mountaineer GT3542L (2kg) or the Series 2 GT 2542 (1.7kg), but I cannot find a shop where I can compare the two together. I am 1.83m (6ft) with an...

Swarovski 30x eyepiece - broken or not?

My eye piece for spectacle wearers seems to have entirely unscrewed . I have had it for nearly 20 years, and I don’t think this has happened before, but am not entirely sure. Quick question is this normal or not!? It easily slides back in but there is no way of securing it.

New tripod for (oldish but perfectly fine) Swarovski 80 ATS HD

I’m in the rather fortunate position of choosing something as a leaving present from my Partnership. I currently have a cheap velbon aluminium tripod with a terrible head. It is poor and vibrates in any wind. The scope tends to become loose on the adapter plate which is also a pain. I would...

New carbon fibre tripod for Swaro ATS 80?

Hi All Would be grateful for your thoughts. I want to buy a new CF tripod to use with my swaro ATS80 and ideally I don't want to use a base plate - I think this means using either the swaro head FH 101 or the Manfrotto 128RC. I will be digiscoping with my setup so want it to be stable and...

    Velbon sherpa 600n + manfrotto 128RC

Velbon sherpa 600n + manfrotto 128RC - will the combination work? Hi I have read on this forum that the 128RC would allow me to use my swaro 80HD without a foot plate. Can anyone tell me whether this head would work with my current tripod. The velbon head screws off the central column. There...

    Swarovski DCB

Evening all My first post here! I have an ATS80 HD and was bought a DCB adapter for Christmas. I am very new to all this - I have been using a Sony DSC P10 which is about 3 years old, but I have found that the screen is too small and am looking to update. Can anyone please tell me of a camera...
