    Swarovski 8x30 CL Companion question

I have the original version with traditional strap lugs. Do all subsequent versions have FP-type connectors? Thanks, Foss

    Cataracts and binoculars

Well the fuzziness I am seeing in my FL 8x32s turned out to be cataracts, a recent eye exam revealed. I'm wondering if any BF members are in the same boat. If anyone who has had the surgery wants to share their experience, it would be welcome. PM me if you'd rather. Thanks. ~ Foss

    Great Leica service

Superb work on my recent Trinovid 10x50BN service....they even tracked down new armor; the original armor (R) had grown cloudy. The low-light views are to die for. Thanks Leica AAA+++ ~ Foss

Saw this local 10x25 ad but don't recognize the iteration. Double hinge with center focus. Seller can't find any additional markings (???).

50mm objective vs 56mm: light gathering

How much more light is gathered by an 56mm objective vs a 50 if all else remains the same? Is it around 10% more? Thanks, math is not my strong suit. (It's a fact: 4 out of 3 people struggle with basic math). Thanks, Jack

    Why no mid-range 8x32, 8x42, 10x42s

Wonder why Swaro doesn't compete with Zeiss (Conquest), Leica (Trinovid), and Nikon (various) by offering mid-priced (~ $1000) common sizes.

    Most unusual use for binoculars?

Aside from birding, astronomy, and other typical activities. I use binoculars mushroom hunting. Great for getting peeks at targets off the beaten path. Less traipsing through the underbrush for false sightings. What's the most unusual way you use binoculars?

    Russian Image Stabilized 16x50 info?

Longshot, but here goes: I have a pair of ZOMZ 16x50 image stabilized (mechanical, without power, like Zeiss 20x60 IS). The binoculars came to me without any paperwork and I'd like to see if somewhere out in the wide world there is a PDF that shows how to operate them properly...a user's...

    Mystery bino ID?

Does anyone recognize these military binoculars? I can't seem to find the maker. The right prism plate says 41 8x40 242941 thats the only markings I can see. The tag that came with them said: "Bulgarian Paratroop Issue" "41 = Hungary" and "munkosoreseg tulajdons" (which Google translated =...

    Favorite bino/bird experience?

Here's my fav. Anyone care to share theirs? Would enjoy reading a few while I and the misses are cooped up. I was at a scenic overlook one day when I heard the cry of a hawk overhead. Not a "location" callout, nor a cry meant to threaten/intimidate. This recurring cry seemed to say "I am king!"...

    Trinovid HD 8x32 & 8x42 first impressions

Wow! I've owned a lot of binoculars over the years, but none as good! Clarity, contrast, tack-sharp focus, view to the edge, ergonomics, and overall feel are over the moon on these two beauties. I might have more info later, but I doubt it as I will be outdoors glassing the entire universe...

Anyone recongize this old binocular logo?

I think it might be Japanese, but that's just a guess. Thanks for looking, Jack

    Hello from San Diego

Hi all, Great forum. I am most fond of raptors, but any bird will do! Ha ha. As a side hobby, I collect vintage binoculars, which I enjoy carrying on hikes. Best regards, Foss
