Rubber eyecups for Nikon HG/LX 8X32

I obtained a new pair for my 8x32 HGL from Nikon UK last month (under warranty) so they are still available. Nikon use a third-party company called Fixation to look after spares and repairs. [email protected]

    WAITING FOR TRINOVID 7x42 BN

So frustrating for you.... You'd have thought any basic QC would have picked up something obvious like that!

EDG 7/8/10 x42 still in production?

I'm the op for this thread and after receiving the new 8x42 EDG from Nikon a couple of months ago I originally decided to sell them as I already have 8x42 HGL, 10x42 SE and 8x20 HG and didn't think I'd have any need for them. But....I keep picking them up and drooling at the wonderful views...

    8x30 Eii Equivalent Replacement

Yes, could have been worse! I also have 8x32 HGL and 10x42 SE but the EDG are really very good. Yes, it was a long drawn out affair that lasted almost a year! Nikon UK sent them to a repair centre in Latvia and after two months they said spare part had finally arrived from Japan but turned out...

    8x30 Eii Equivalent Replacement

To complete the story, I recently received a new 8x42 EDG from Nikon UK as a replacement for the EII 8x30 that they had problems with repairing. I was originally offered the MHG but at the time these were out of stock and the EDG came back into stock before the MHG so i was offered these...

EDG 7/8/10 x42 still in production?

This is my first experience with the EDG and although they may be 12 year old design I like them a lot so far. My first non-scientific impressions are slightly better resolution than my 10x42 SE (but without the wonderful 3D view) and a more noticeable increase in resolution than my 8x32 HGL...

EDG 7/8/10 x42 still in production?

Thanks, perhaps the 301xxx is a new production run? Nikon is a mystery!

EDG 7/8/10 x42 still in production?

I was told by Nikon UK that 8/10x32 are discontinued and 7/8/10x42 are available. Although the Nikon.de website lists the 10x32, it states "out of stock", same as the UK site so this statement is probably correct.

EDG 7/8/10 x42 still in production?

I'd be interested to hear anyone with the EDG 8x42, how your serial number compares to the new pair I received this week from Nikon UK with serial 301xxx. From what I can see most have a serial in the range 300xxx?

EDG 7/8/10 x42 still in production?

It's likely that the EDG may still be in production and not just new old stock for European countries (I know they no longer ship to the US). The 7/8/10x42 have just come back into stock on the Nikon UK website and I just received a new 8x42 EDG from Nikon as a replacement with a later serial...

Nikon 8x42 EDG, ships from Japan, CAD 2,747.78 - Expensive?

EDG have just come back into stock on Nikon UK website so appears they are still being manufactured. https://www.nikon.co.uk/en_GB/product/sport-optics/binoculars/edg/edg-8x42

    8x30 Eii Equivalent Replacement

I assumed it was a collimation problem but Nikon service told me they needed replacement parts and didn't expand on that. I also have some 10x42 SE so I will still have the porro view :-)

    8x30 Eii Equivalent Replacement

My 7 year old 8x30 Eii's developed a collimation problem six months ago so I returned them to Nikon UK under the 10 year warranty. However, this has been quite drawn out due to supply of parts and after 3 months I had an email saying spare part had arrived but turned out to have a fault so...

Several days birding with Monarch HG 8X42

I 've had two repairs (interestingly I noticed No 2 below soon after I received back from repair for No 1): 1. Fungus on edge of objective lens - this was removed, cleaned and binoculars recollimated. 2. The dioptre assembly was loose and the repair stated: "Adjusted dioptre adjustment ring...

Several days birding with Monarch HG 8X42

I also had a very positive experience recently with Nikon UK customer service with the repair of my 10x42 SE!
