New 10x42s wanted. But which ones?

The Nikon Monarch HG is quite good.. especially considering the light weight. There is also the SFL 10x40 which is even lighter and also quite good.

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

Agreed.. I did indeed found the SF (32mm) to have better contrast/resolution when compared to SFL. Even though I liked the neutral color and easier eye placement on the SFL (40mm), I can never forget the amazing detailed view on the SF.

Paul - could you try looking at clear blue sky with the SF and with naked eyes? I'll curious how much difference you see compared to me.. I know people's eyes and perceiving colors can be very different (even my left eye and right eye see colors slightly differently)

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

When I just had the SF, it looked great and I didn't really notice the green hue. But when I compared it against the SFL I could see the colors being different. The test I did then was to look at clear blue sky through the binoculars and with the naked eyes. Since the magnification here doesn't...

Analysis Paralysis- Please help me choose!

Maven B3 is about $500-600, but I'm not sure how the shipping is to Norway. Also, the Nikon Monarch HG 42 is about 600-700 used. They are quite good and the size/weight is similar to many 32mm ones.

Zeiss SF 8x30 vs SFL 8x40

Just wanted to report that after some more testing, I decided to go with the SFL 8x40 for its easier eye placement and color profile. One thing that I didn't mention about the SF 8x32 that I just recently noticed .. my wife has even worse nearsightedness (-10) than me (-7) and when I had her...

Zeiss SF 8x30 vs SFL 8x40

Ah I did notice changing (reducing) the IPD made the SF a little better for me. I didn't know that's due to spherical aberration. I'm guessing it's that plus the 32mm are causing my issue.. maybe due to my eye socket shape and/or nearsightedness? The 40mm probably naturally eases the eye...

Yup it's been a lot of fun 😊

Zeiss SF 8x30 vs SFL 8x40

Very interesting.. yeah for me it's like, no matter what position I always seem to have one issue or other. I'll give some more time and see if I can find a good way to deal with it. For SFL, I think I can live with the issues, it's just now that I've seen the images with the SF, so that will...

Zeiss SF 8x30 vs SFL 8x40

Yeah I've thought about getting one to try but read about the glare issue.. and since it's quite a bit more than the SF 8x32 (for what I paid for anyways), so I decided to try the Zeiss first.. maybe I'll give NL a try sometimes later.

Zeiss SF 8x30 vs SFL 8x40

Yeah that's true.. but the view comfort is a big thing though

Zeiss SF 8x30 vs SFL 8x40

    The SF 8x32 you mean?

Zeiss SF 8x30 vs SFL 8x40

Ah I realized I said 8x30 in my original post.. as well as a few other typos. I don't see a way to edit it though..

Yup SF 8x32 is the one I'm looking at.

Zeiss SF 8x30 vs SFL 8x40

Hi Will, Yeah I'm taking the "one and done" approach, and also trying to just have one for all purposes instead of having multiple. The oring approach sounds very interesting! I wonder if anyone else has had similar experience with the SF or it's just me. I do have very bad nearsightedness...
