    Waxwings, Amblecote, West Midlands.

    Just back from watching 60+ Waxwings in Amblecote, Stourbridge. Flying to a tree top by the Glassworks pub car park and also a tree in front of the VW Garage. The local Gulls seem to be making them a bit flighty! Lovely birds to catch up with and in a good number!

    Just had sighting again of Woodchat Shrike! As mentioned walk past the Golden Lion and as you approach allotments on the right it was on the perimeter fenceline across the allotments! Possible 2 Shrikes.

    Blackcap in my garden

    I have had Blackcaps visiting my garden since the last week in December. A male has been more regular with visits than a female. They fed on the Mahonia flowers initially whilst the flowers lasted. I spike apples on branches and they will perch for a long time pecking away at the fruit. Enjoy...

    A male Redstart, Whittington Hall Lane. Seen on a fence down by the cottage! Pied and yellow Wagtails, Yellowhammer x5 and 3 Swallows hawking the fields.

    Thank you very much Andy! The name certainly fits the insect with it's long neck and flathead! It was found in a wooded area of a common by a small pool.
