Brittany earlier in the week, presume a “flatfish” bottom feeder?

My first impression is the common cuttlefish (Sepia officinalis).

I'm confused. I posted the Pied Cormorant and I see it as 486. Pied Cormorant, Aus. Above that is 485. Madeiran Chaffinch Madeira, Portugal, posted by Paul. The only relationship is consecutive numbers. Is there supposed to be a relationship between adjacent images, or something?

I totally disagree with your comment. I am 79 and very clearly remember Reds being a visible part of nature in the south of England when I was growing up. Never saw a grey and they had been expanding their range since the 1870s

I tend to support the theory that the ability to out compete is/was a prime factor, but.in all honesty, does it really matter, in the current situation, which caused the decline?

The major "issue" I find, is popular perception of squirrels. As I mentioned in message #4 Red Squirrels ARE cute. The Red was seen by the general population as CUTE. Any childrens story books, etc. As the red has disappeared and replaced by grays, the poulation haven't generally noticed and...

Yes. They were persecuted but I have never heard of this claim of their needing to be reintroduced. Please supply references.
