#1 looks Ok for pochard to me, can't see anything wrong with the bill for that.

ID- Thrush?

Possibly hybrid with Turdus ruficollis, Red-throated Thrush?, that can happen, and show more rufous tones

Tufted Duck or Scaup? East London

One quick way from this pic is the amount of black on the bill tip, the nail. Scaup has very small amount much smaller than this (although it can be variable!). Also there is quite a lot of contrast between mantle and flank colour, G. Scaup there is usually much less contrast.

Kestrel with horizontal breast barring? | Hokkaido, Japan, june

Glad someone has confirmed Greater Kestrel as that was exactly what I thought, but couldn't reconcile it being in Japan! so I didn't comment.
