ACOTR.jpg (Rupicola peruvianus)

Andean Cock of the Rock. National Bird of Peru. I had to hike over a very steep mountain, two hours each way. Very difficult. Also difficult to photograph due to the dark jungle and the two-toned body, with half being light and half very dark, which made camera settings tricky.
Habitat
Amazon jungle
Location
Gocta Falls, Andes mountains, northern Peru
Date taken
2 Dec 2022
Scientific name
Rupicola peruvianus
Equipment used
Nikon 7100 and Tamron 200-600
Shutter speed, aperture & ISO
1/45 sec f6.3
Thank you Stanley. There might be other places that are easier to see it without hiking over a mountain.
